I have tried using then pen type soldering tool for basic project but it was always a hit and miss for me. This is by far the best and easiest soldering tool I have ever owned. I did two quick soldering project within minutes of receiving the tool.
This little gadget worked better than expected. It heated up quickly, got very hot, and the solder feed was very slick. This was a lifesaver for my project soldering wires above my head in my campervan (installing recessed lights). Definitely worth the money and an overall great purchase.

Having used a traditional soldering iron for many years and not having three hands always available, it was really a pleasure to be able to complete a soldering job by myself! The trigger-feed solder wire feature is easy to use and works. I am an intermittent solderer, fixing this and that, so would this hold up under heavy use? - I don't know, but for the average DIY guy/gal, it is perfect.
I turn 69 this year and my hands are not as good as they use to be but i just hooked up flat screen radio I bought online and this solder gun made it very easy for wire connections with the auto feed of solder would make a great gift 🧙♂️
